The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned Israel for preventing Palestinian worshipers from accessing places of worship and forbidding the calls to prayer in violation of freedom of worship and the rules of international humanitarian law. The Ministry held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for these violations and their consequences, considering them as an explicit call for religious war in order to conceal the political nature of the conflict. The Ministry called on the international community and the specialized organizations, primarily Human Rights Council and UNESCO, to assume their legal and moral responsibilities in protecting holy sites and to take the necessary measures to ensure that the Israeli occupation is forced to comply with international law.
