The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (MOFAE) condemned the approval of the Israeli municipality in occupied Jerusalem to build Israeli sites in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, east Jerusalem, as a part of the settlement expansion policy. It also condemned Israel’s disapproval of West Bank citizens from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the assault committed by settlers on a Palestinian family of 8 members in Masafer Yatta. In this regard, MOFAE held the Israeli government fully responsible for the violations and crimes of the occupation and its settlers, and for the crime of expansionist colonial settlement and its consequences and repercussions on the possibilities of achieving peace. It also held the international community responsible for its silence regarding these violations that rise to the level of both war crimes and crimes against humanity. It renewed its call to all members of the Security Council to be acquainted with what Israel is doing against the Palestinian people and to abide by their responsibilities to protect the Palestinians.
