The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (MOFAE) condemned the opening of an office of the Czech Republic affiliated to its embassy in occupied Jerusalem and considered it an assault on the Palestinian people and their rights, and a flagrant violation of international law. The Ministry also regarded it as a departure from the European position on the political and legal status of Jerusalem as an integral part of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967. The Foreign Ministry also held the Czech government fully and directly responsible for this decision and its dangerous repercussions on the peace process and on their relations with the Palestinians and the Arab World.
