The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (MOFAE) said that the siege of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and the suppression of solidarity activists by Israel present a real test for the credibility of the international community and the American administration. The Palestinian Ministry condemned the occupation forces’ continued suppression of peaceful solidarity groups with residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood threatened with forced displacement and their expulsion from their homes, in addition to the breaking into homes and attacking of residents of the neighbourhood, amid the continued closure of the entrance to the neighborhood for more than two weeks. The Ministry also condemned the provocative storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The Ministry emphasized the role that the United Nations and its organizations should play in providing protection and services to the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. It added, “The credibility of the states and the United Nations remains at stake and faces a serious test, as long as Israel continues its aggression and implements its expansionist colonial plans on the ground”.
