During a meeting between Palestinian PM Mohammad Shtayyeh and Deputy Minister for Swedish Foreign Affairs Robert Redberg, the PM stressed the need for pressure on Israel by the international community to allow elections to be held in Jerusalem, like in all other Palestinian territories. Shtayyeh also called on Europe to pressure Israel to implement the agreements it has signed and to respect international law in order to end the occupation and establish an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed the importance of putting Europe’s economic weight behind its political weight in this issue. For further details, click here
