In a recent statement, Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh condemned the forcible displacement of 11 families from the Al-Awawda and Abu Al-Kabash families in Khirbet Hamsa Al-Fawqa/Al-Buqi’a, in the north of the Jordan Valley. The families’ homes and properties were confiscated and demolished, in what the Prime Minister described as ethnic cleansing of indigenous populations. He called on the international community and the new U.S. administration to protect the Palestinians and to implement Security Council Resolution NO. 2334 denouncing settlement activity and calling for its termination.
