The Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Shtayyeh, discussed with British Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, during a meeting in Ramallah, the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and the significant importance in preventing a recurrence of the Israeli aggression on the Strip through a serious political path. The minister also said “the reconstruction of the devastated Gaza Strip must take place in tandem with preventing Israel from carrying out another aggression on the Strip and filling the political vacuum through a serious and real track, under multiple international sponsorships, that ends the occupation and leads to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital”. He also added, “the time had come for London and the rest of European capital cities to engage with the US to start a serious political track and compel Israel to end its policies that undermine the two-state solution and weaken the Palestinian national authority and end its Judaization of Jerusalem and its continued blockade on Gaza”. Shtayyeh called on the British Foreign Secretary to break the status quo by recognizing the state of Palestine and taking the necessary measures to boycott Israeli settlement products.
