The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, sent three identical letters to the UN Secretary-General, the President of the Security Council this month (Vietnam), and the President of the UN General Assembly on the ongoing deterioration of the Palestinian’s human rights condition, and the war crimes committed against it. Mansour said that the occupation is practicing its illegal policies through the forced eviction of residents of Silwan and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhoods, which represents a flagrant violation of international law and a provocation to Security Council resolutions. He pointed to the increase in the occupation’s crimes against Palestinian citizens represented by field executions, arbitrary arrests and unjustified indiscriminate attacks. Mansour further warned of Israel’s 14 years old suffocating blockade of Gaza Strip, which has led to the collapse of its economic, humanitarian and social conditions. Finally, he called on the international community to put an end to illegal and inhumane violations of the Israeli occupation. For further details, click here
