Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has announced his response to the Israeli plans of annexing parts of the occupied Palestinian territories, in a televised speech on the evening of May 19, 2020. Abbas has decided to release of all agreements with the government of Israel and the government of the USA. He said in a speech after an emergency meeting of the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah that “The State of Palestine and the PLO have absolved of all the agreements and understandings with the American and Israeli governments, and from all of their obligations, including security agreements”. The Palestinian President also added: “The Occupying Power must, from now and on, shoulder all responsibilities and obligations before the international community as an occupying power in the occupied Palestinian state, And with all the implications, consequences and repercussions, according to international law and international humanitarian law, especially the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.”Abbas also held the US administration the full responsibility for the injustice that is occurring to the Palestinian people and has considered it as a basic partner with the occupation government in all of unfair and aggressive measures.
