The President of the United Nations General Assembly, Turkish Ambassador Volkan Bozkir, stressed the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 lines, in implementation of the relevant UN resolutions. This came at a meeting held by the Fourth Committee of the United Nations on issues of decolonization, peace-keeping operations, international cooperation, special UN missions, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). In his intervention, Bozkir said: “UN must continue to support Palestinians and Israelis to resolve the conflict based on international law, UN resolutions and bilateral agreements and realizing the two-state solution based on the pre-1967 lines, living side by side in peace and security”.
