Russian President, Vladimir Putin, stressed that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a necessary condition for achieving stability in the Middle East, expressing Moscow’s readiness to contribute to achieving this goal. Putin stressed that Russia welcomes the normalization of relations between countries in the region, especially between Israel and some of its Arab neighbours, noting that establishing ties between countries is always in the interest of their people. He added that, stability in the region is unlikely to happen without the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In this regard, multilateral forms of cooperation and discussion must be launched. Putin expressed Moscow’s hope for settling basic issues between the Palestinians and Israelis, especially the implementation of the two-state solution, based on the “common interests of the peoples of the region”, stressing the importance of overcoming the differences between the Palestinians themselves.
