Member of the PLO’s Executive Committee, Head of the Refugee Affairs Department, Ahmed Abu Huli, discussed with the Deputy Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency Leni Stenseth the financial deficit in the UNRWA’s budget and its repercussions on the services provided to Palestinian refugees, the challenges facing the Agency’s work during the COVID-19 pandemic, and preparations for the holding of the International Donors Conference. Abu Huli stressed the need for UNRWA to continue providing its services to Palestinian refugees wherever they may be, and the need to develop an emergency plan that meets the health, relief and educational needs of the refugees in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
