Likud MP Avi Dichter, in addition to 13 other members of the coalition and opposition blocs, submitted a bill to expand the definition of a “foreign agent,” which is effectively an amendment to the existing law, which defines a “foreign agent” as: “someone who provides or has confidential information which could harm Israel’s security for a foreign country.” The amendment requested that a “foreign party” be added to foreign countries since according to the interpretation of the law, the Palestinian National Authority and the European Union were mentioned as foreign entities, not states.
