De Space published a study titled “The Relocation of the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem: “A Perspective of International Law on Diplomatic Relations” by researcher Abla Saleh Hamdan. From the standpoint of diplomatic international law, this paper analyzed and investigated the effects of the relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem. The researcher sought to identify American policy and its transformations in the City of Jerusalem, as well as to present substantive and procedural rules of international law in order to determine whether or not the Palestinian complaint against the relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem could be accepted under the principle of Monetary Gold. At the conclusion of the study, the researcher pointed that the official position of the successive US administrations contradicted that of the legal adviser to Secretary of State Herbert Hansel, who emphasized that Israel’s occupation of Palestine is considered to be a military occupation with temporary military authority and specific restrictions imposed on it under international law. The researcher urged Israel to abide by the limits placed on it under war law as a warrior occupier and to cease the building of Israeli civilian settlements in Palestinian territory, which are illegal under international law.For further details, click here
