The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies published a research paper by Aisha Al-Basri entitled: “International Criminal Court Prospects for an Investigation into War Crimes in Palestine.” In light of the decision of the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into alleged war crimes committed in the Palestinian territories in March 2021, after the court recognized that it has jurisdiction over the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. This paper is based on three facts, in which politics and law overlap to determine the prospects for an investigation into the Palestine question. The paper also considers the possibilities of harnessing the work of the Court to serve the Palestinian cause, given that resorting to international criminal justice can contribute to the national liberation project, without being dependent on it.
