The researcher and master’s student at the Palestinian Al-Najah National University, Liwa Darawsheh, published his master’s thesis under the title: “The International Protection of Medical Services Personnel from the Perspective of International Humanitarian Law, and its application to the Palestinian situation.” In this study, the researcher dealt with the concept of medical services and their personnel who enjoy international protection, the scope of that protection, and the conditions necessary for them to enjoy the necessary international protection, such as the existence of a state of war and others. Darawsheh also touched on the role of states in providing international protection for medical personnel in the conflicting countries, in addition to the obstacles facing medical personnel and notables in Palestine, which are represented by the repeated attacks of the Israeli occupation against them, and the dropping of the rules of international humanitarian law on these attacks; To clarify the occupation’s international criminal and civil responsibility for it. The researcher also deals with the options available to the Palestinian state to sue the Israeli occupation and the measures it has taken so far to hold it accountable for these attacks.
