Researcher Miles Jackson, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Oxford, commissioned by the Diakonia Center for International Humanitarian Law, published an article entitled: “The Applicability of the Concept of Apartheid to the Occupied Palestinian Territories”. The article tackles the issue of “The Interplay between the Legal Regime Applicable to Belligerent Occupation and the Prohibition of Apartheid under International Law”. It delas with several issues, including whether the prohibition of apartheid applies in situations of occupation and how it interacts with the law of occupation (derived mostly from international humanitarian law and complemented by human rights law).
