Researcher Noureddine Sudani published a paper entitled “Preliminary Study of the International Criminal Court in the Crimes of the Israeli Occupation in Palestine.” in the Algerian Scientific Journal Platform. In this study, he introduced the Israeli gross violations and heinous crimes commited against the Palestinian people, and the criminalization of the Statute of the ICC for such crimes. The author also sought to define Israel’s position on the ICC, as well as the extent of ability and capacity of the Court to investigate the crimes of Israeli occupation and ensure that the perpetrators were prosecuted and punished. Sudani concluded that the Court’s statute has a wide margin in criminalizing Israeli violations through the possibility of considering them crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression. The researcher suggested several recommendations, the most important of which was that the ICC should be removed from political influence and that the Security Council should intervene in its work; so that it can do its part to prosecute, and prosecute and punish Israeli war criminals.
