Researcher Nuha Dwaikat-Shaer submits a thesis titled: “Challenging Spatial Oppression in a Context of Housing Rights Denial: A Case Study in so-called Area C, West Bank, Palestine.” This study looks into housing, which is a basic human right of every individual. However, under settler colonial contexts indigenous communities are stripped of this right due to homes being demolished or being forcibly displaced. This thesis follows a qualitative case study approach by which the researcher explores house related initiatives, in three Palestinian communities in so called Area C. The aim of this research is to inform others on the issue of indigenous housing rights under the context of ongoing settler colonialism. The findings of the study aim to assist indigenous communities, governments, civil society, and international human rights organizations towards realizing the importance of ensuring proper housing rights under settler colonial contexts.
