Researcher Wilson, L published his doctoral thesis in law from the University of Exeter entitled: “International Law and Human Trafficking in Fragile and Conflict Affected Situations: The case of Palestine” This thesis seeks to determine how victims of human trafficking can access adequate standards of protection. The researcher conducts an in-depth case study in the context of Palestine; Where the study examines the legal framework and system, the role of Palestinian institutions, civil society organizations, and external actors in the building of a harmonized rule of law, with the difficulties encountered concerning the local implementation of Palestine’s international obligations in the field of human rights regarding the prosecution and punishment of human trafficking. The researcher concludes that in the presence of Israeli- Palestinian conflict and instability in addition to the absence of a stable legal ruling, the existence of a complex legal system due to its plurality, and a precarious political situation, the implementation of human rights and Human Trafficking legislation are jeopardized and are not practically as well as judicially enforced. The thesis also contributes to understanding the practical aspects of implementing a preventive action framework against human trafficking in Palestine and in other conflict areas.
