Researchers Oshrat Hochman and Rebeca Rajiman published an article in the Ethnic and Racial Studies Journal, Volume 45, Issue 16 of 2022, titled: “The “Jewish Premium”: attitudes towards Jewish and non-Jewish immigrants arriving in Israel under the Law of Return.” This article studies the discrimination that non-Jewish immigrants are exposed to by Israeli Jews under the Law of Return. Three main areas of discrimination were examined which are: admission, political rights and welfare rights. Through the use of different methods, the hypothesis of the study was tested using a survey to explore the logic behind respondents’ reasons for supporting discrimination. The findings of the study show that discrimination is seen most in the case of admission and political rights but was not noticeable when it comes to welfare rights. For further details, click here
