The representative of Palestine to the United Nations in New York, Riyad Mansour, said that the Security Council will hold an open session at the end of October, for public debate on President Mahmoud Abbas’s initiative to hold an international peace conference. He added that he had held a meeting with the Non-Aligned states in the Security Council, during which it was proposed to continue consultations with all members of the Council, the International Quartet, and the Office of the Secretary-General on the President’s initiative, which moved from requesting an international conference to starting practical steps to prepare for the conference.
