Ambassador of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, sent three letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the General Assembly, and the President of the Security Council for this month (India). Mansour called on the international community to provide international protection for the Palestinian people in accordance with international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention, and the need to hold Israel accountable as the only way to put an end to all its grave violations. Mansour reiterated his call for the international community to work immediately to lift the Israeli siege imposed on Palestinian civilians in Gaza, and the need for them to have unhindered access to humanitarian needs, relief and reconstruction. He also warned of the grave dangers posed by the escalation of violence due to Israel’s policies in Gaza and throughout the occupied territory, including East Jerusalem.
