Saleh Raafat, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, called on international institutions and parties that sign the Geneva Conventions, to exert pressure on Israel to release the captive Maher Al-Akhras, as he is administratively detained and has been on hunger strike for 78 days, denouncing his administrative detention, and that his life is now in grave danger, as Rafat described not realizing him considers as a heinous crime. Rafat called on the UN Security Council, meeting at the end of this month to discuss the situation in the Palestinian territories, to work towards making decisions and imposing sanctions against Israel to force it to stop its colonial settlement measures supported by the US administration and in violation of international legitimacy resolutions.
