Saleh Raafat, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, denounced the statements of the American ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, of threatening President Mahmoud Abbas and replacing him with Mohammed Dahlan, describing them as rude and hostile to the Palestinian people and its leadership. In a statement, he indicated that Friedman’s statements reflect the current US administration’s position in dealing with the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in line with Israel’s vision of fueling the conflict and undermining international legitimacy and international law decisions, in flagrant violation of international law and the UN resolutions. In the conclusion of his statement, Raafat considered what settler Friedman said about the annexation of Palestinian lands in the West Bank and his quotation of the “biblical name” Judea and Samaria, is an evidence of his racism, Zionism and extremism, and his adoption of stances against the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
