The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, expressed his concern over Israeli settlement expansion in the most sensitive places, which threatens the establishment of a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967. Wennesland called on the Israeli occupation to immediately end all settlement expansion, as it undermines chances of achieving the two-state solution in accordance with Resolution 2334 issued in 2016. He also condemned the Israeli occupation’s penetration of international laws and norms and its lack of respect for any UN resolution, calling on the occupation to abide by international and UN resolutions.
