The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, called on the international community – especially the Security Council – to use the means granted by international law to hold Israel responsible for its violations and crimes against the Palestinian people. Mansour stressed, in three letters he sent to: the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council for this month (France), and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, that accountability is central to ending the historical injustices befalling the Palestinian people. He also reaffirmed the viability of international law in the face of violations. In his letters, Mansour specifically addressed the forced displacement of Palestinian Bedouin families in Khirbet Humsah for the seventh time since November 2020, justifying this under various pretexts.
