Taysir Khalid, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, warned of the dangers of an Israeli plan to proceed with the construction of a settlement in the area named E1. He added that a discussion had taken place within the Israeli government coalition and with the White House to proceed construction in the aforementioned area in the context of planning to annex settlements in the vicinity of Jerusalem then to the city in order to expand its borders to what Israel calls “Greater Jerusalem” as a step that could be acceptable and as a starting point in the annexation process and the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s plan of a liquidation solution to the Palestinian issue. Also, this solution is being imposed on the Palestinian side and the “Greater Jerusalem” will include, according to the deliberations that were taking place between the Israeli and American sides, the three settlement blocs: Ma’ale Adumim, Gush Etzion, and Giv’at Ze’ev, and perhaps an additional fourth block, Adam – Kochav Yaakov, which would divide the West Bank into parts and isolate the northern and central West Bank from its south and prevent the establishment of a viable and connected Palestinian state.
