The European Parliament adopted a resolution condemning the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) for its provocative and hateful content in Palestinian schoolbooks. The Refugee Affairs Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization denounced this decision and considered it a submission to Israeli pressures along with the support of right-wing parties in Europe that are pro-Israel. The head of the Refugee Affairs Department, Abu Huli, stated that the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) at the United Nations confirmed that the Palestinian curriculum taught by UNRWA is free of incitement to violence and racial hatred, ensuring that they contain a proper narrative to Palestinian national history. Abu Huli further called on the European Parliament to reverse its decision and not to lose sight of Israeli actions that are full of incitement against Palestinians, and to base its positions on reports by UN organizations; rather than basing them on Israeli allegations that do not respect the standards and charters of the United Nations and its agreements, especially in allowing UNRWA to operate in Jerusalem and run Educational institutions therein.
