The High Representative for Security Policy and Foreign Affairs of the European Union, Josep Borrell, said that only the two-state solution would give both Israelis and Palestinians dignity, freedom, and the ability to live together. Borrell added that a cease-fire and violence cannot be relied upon, as peace and the two-state solution must be put on the political negotiating table and acted upon. He added that at the last meeting, a ceasefire had been voted on, which had been supported by 26 countries out of 27.
