In response to a request by the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court on May 27 to clarify the status of the Oslo agreements and their impact on the investigation of war crimes in Palestine, Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda announced yesterday that the International Criminal Court will go ahead with its investigations into crimes committed in Palestine despite the persistence or disintegration of Implementation of the Oslo Accords of 1993. Bensouda also expressed concern about the annexation process and the effects that may result from it, explaining that Israel’s doing so is a flagrant violation of international law.
