The judges of the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued, by a majority vote, a decision accepting the court’s territorial jurisdiction over the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, paving the way for investigations into war crimes that occurred there. The Pre-Trial Chamber issued its decision regarding the request of prosecutor Fatou Bensouda concerning territorial jurisdiction over Palestine, where it decided that the territorial jurisdiction of the court extends to the territories occupied by Israel since 1967, namely Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, given that Palestine is a state party to Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
