The Israeli Knesset rejected a bill to include a clause “guaranteeing equality for all citizens” in the national law, which Gantz had vowed to change during his election campaign. The bill was defeated 53 votes to 21. It is worth noting that the National Law considers Israel a state-specific to the Jewish people.
