Ayman Safadi, Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, with Saeb Erekat, Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, discussed developments in the Palestinian problem and attempts to find a clear roadmap for resolving the conflict through a two-state solution in accordance with the agreed terms of reference. Safadi and Erekat stressed that achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace is a strategic choice through the two-state solution that guarantees the embodiment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law, international legitimacy decisions, and the Arab Peace Initiative. They stressed the need for stopping all Israeli illegal measures, especially the annexation of lands, the building of settlements, and their expansion, which undermine the two-state solution and all chances of achieving a just peace.
