The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned the approval of the Israeli authorities to build 540 new settlement units in Jabal Abu Ghneim in occupied East Jerusalem. The ministry’s spokesman, Ambassador Dhaifallah Ali Al-Fayez, called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities by pressuring Israel to stop the settlement policy, as it is a rejected and illegal policy. He also affirmed Jordan’s rejection of the Israeli settlement policy in the OPT, stressing that it constitutes a violation of international law and UN resolutions, especially the Security Council Resolution No. 2334. Al-Fayez added that this Israeli policy and methodology is a unilateral step that undermines efforts to resolve the conflict and achieve a comprehensive and just peace. To check the news, click here
