The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate condemned the continuation of Israeli violations in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, “the Holy Mosque,” the last of which was the widespread incursions into the mosque’s courtyards by extremists under the protection of the Israeli police. The ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Dhaifallah Ali Al-Fayez, considered that these incursions violate the existing legal and historical status and international law, and contradict Israel’s obligations as the occupying power in occupied East Jerusalem under international law. It is fully supervised by the Jordanian Endowments Administration, the exclusive authority to administer the Al-Aqsa mosque and regulate entry to it under international law.
