In a televised interview on the official Palestine channel, Moroccan Parliament Speaker Habib al-Maliki said that the Palestinian reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah would unite the Arab ranks. He added, “We believe in the Palestinian cause, because it is a consensus and fateful issue for the Arab world, and achieving Palestinian national unity is a vital necessity for the future of struggle and resistance.” El -Maliki stressed that the unity of the Palestinian and Arab ranks would restore what the Arabs have lost in recent years.
Reconciliation will contribute to the unity of the Arab ranks, and as far as the reconciliation hampered, the Arab ranks tore apart. El -Maliki confirmed his country’s position in support of preserving the Palestinian territories, saying: “History will do justice to the resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people.” He also condemned the “attempts of the Israeli government to annex the Palestinian lands,” and called for the release of detainees in Israeli prisons and the return of Palestinian refugees.
