The Palestinian Ministry of Information condemned the dismissal of journalist Nasser Abu Bakr, head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, from Agence France-Presse where he worked for more than twenty years. The ministry issued in an urgent letter to the agency that this behavior constitutes an infringement of the freedom of media and union work, and constitutes a violation of the laws and regulations in the State of Palestine, which puts the agency in clear violation of Palestinian laws. The ministry said that such a move by the French news agency also defies international law, as it clashes with the background of union action to defend human freedom and dignity everywhere.
