The President of the Palestinian National Council, Salim Zinoun, sent identical letters to the heads of regional and international parliamentary federations and to the heads of specific parliaments of the world regarding the critical health condition of the detainee Ghazanfar Abu Atwan in occupation prisons. Abu Atwan has been on hunger strike for the 58th day in a row, refusing to accept his administrative detention. The Council held the occupation authorities fully responsible for Abu Atwan’s life, calling for parliaments to pressute the occupation to ensure his immediate release, and all other prisoners on hunger strike, without charge or trial, so that they could receive the necessary medical care in Palestinian hospitals.
