“Jerusalem is our eternal capital and we cannot be satisfied with an alternative, and without it there will be no peace, security, stability or agreement, in our region and the world.” President Mahmoud Abbas said in a recorded speech to the emergency session of the Arab Parliament on the ongoing crimes and violations of the Israeli occupation state. He added that Jerusalem once again proved that there is no value without it, and that the occupying power’s crimes and terrorism in the Gaza Strip are punishable by international law, and that he will work to prosecute the perpetrators of these crimes before international courts. President Abbas stressed that work is currently focused on stopping the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, reiterating its adherence to the Arab peace initiative approved by successive Arab summits since the Beirut summit in 2002. The President affirmed that efforts to hold general elections will continue and take place at a time when the reasons that led to its postponement have diminished. For further details, click here
