The Palestinian Supreme Ifta Council condemns the ongoing demolition of Palestinian homes, facilities, and the targeting of Jerusalem’s institutions and economic sectors by the occupying authorities under the pretext of the lack of building permits. The Council also deplores the occupying authorities uprooting of dozens of olive trees in Bethlehem, southern occupied West Bank, as a prelude to more settlement construction and strangulation of Palestinian Arab neighborhoods. This encirclement also strands Palestinians in the area and isolates them from the rest of the West Bank. The Council held the Israeli occupying authorities fully responsible for the lives of prisoners on hunger strike, demanding serious and active action by the international community and the United Nations specialized organizations. The Council further called for ensuring the implementation of UN resolutions on Palestine, especially with regards to Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Ibrahimi Mosque, and Palestinian prisoners.
