The PLO Negotiation Affairs Department issued a fact sheet entitled “the political Prisoners and the Palestinian Elections. The sheet provides a brief on the right of political prisoners to elect and to run for elections. It also sheds light on Israel’s contravention violations to the international law, such as persecuting and arresting Palestinian candidates and members of parliament (PMs). Moreover, the sheet focuses on the apartheid system adopted by occupation authorities by allowing its prisoners to vote, whereas forbidding the Palestinian detainees to do so. The sheet also includes the Palestinian claims to members of the international law, and in particular to the UN, EU, and the countries supported holding the elections in order to deter the occupation and to oblige it to follow the signed conventions and the international law, to ensure that election is held as expected.
