The Palestine Liberation Organization sent an immediate appeal to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the member states of the United Nations. It called for urgent intervention to support the right of Palestinian refugees to health and safety, to provide them with protection following the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees in the Middle East “UNRWA,” the standards and protocols of the World Health Organization.
Especially in light of the spread of the epidemic until we found a solution for their case following United Nations General Assembly resolution 194. The PLO, represented by the Refugee Affairs Department and the Negotiations Affairs Department, in cooperation with the Mission of the State of Palestine to the United Nations in New York, pointed out the terrible conditions and circumstances that Palestinian refugees experience.
Because of the racist practices of the Israeli occupation, the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, and the suffocating financial crisis that UNRWA suffers from. It also stressed the need to mobilize sufficient funds for UNRWA, especially in light of the beginning of the new school year and the reception of more than half a million students in its five fields of operation.
