The President of the Arab Parliament, Mishaal Bin Fahm Al-Salami, declared that moving embassies to the occupied city of Jerusalem is “ international contravention”, stressing the “danger of affecting the existing historical and legal status of occupied Jerusalem.” He emphasized that these unilateral decisions violate international law and international legitimacy decisions regarding the legal status of the occupied city of Jerusalem, including Security Council Resolution No. 478 of 1980 rejecting the Israeli government’s decision to annex Jerusalem and suspending diplomatic missions there, and Security Council Resolution No. 2334 of 2016 regarding the Security Council non-acceptance of any amendments has made to the city of Jerusalem by Israel without negotiations, as well as the relevant United Nations General Assembly resolutions.
