The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malawi has pledged to open an embassy in Jerusalem by next summer. This came during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malawi, Eisenhower Macaca, to Israel, and thus Malawi would be the first African country to open an embassy in Jerusalem. Macaca affirmed the “determination of the Republic of Malawi to open a full embassy in Jerusalem by summer 2021,” according to a joint statement issued by the two countries.
