The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Tunisians Abroad denied news about the possibility of normalizing relations with Israel. Also, it emphasized that all allegations in this regard are baseless and completely contradictory to the official and principled position of the Republic of Tunisia in support of the just Palestinian question and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Furthermore, it added that the Republic of Tunisia respects the sovereign positions of various countries, but “this position is fixed and principled, and changes in the international arena will never affect it.” It also “reflects what the President of the Republic has expressed, on many occasions, about the concept of normalization, which is considered misplaced, because the normal situation for the Palestinian people is to recover their full and undiminished rights.” It expressed its complete conviction that a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace cannot be established in the region without implementing the international legitimacy decisions regarding the rights of the Palestinian people to recover their stolen land and establish their independent state.
