The United Nations said it has reached a temporary arrangement whereby the World Health Organization (WHO) will coordinate between the PA and Israel to ensure that Gaza residents obtain permits for treatment in Israeli and West Bank hospitals. In the wake of the invitation and intense negotiations with the parties concerned, the World Health Organization (WHO) launched on Sun, Sep 6, a temporary coordination mechanism to support Palestinian patients and their companions who are required to apply for Israeli permits to access the basic health services outside the Gaza Strip, said Gerald Rockenschaub, Head of the World Health Organization Office for the occupied Palestinian territory.
