The United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) will mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People for the year 2020, on the 1 and 2of December, to commemorate the General Assembly’s adoption of Partition Resolution 181 on November 29, 1947, which stipulated the division of Palestine into two states. Commemoration of this day is held annually at United Nations Headquarters, the United Nations Office at Geneva, Vienna, and other places. The event includes an annual General Assembly debate on the question of Palestine and special sessions at which high-level officials of the Member States, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of civil society, who are expected to make statements on the question of Palestine.
