UNICEF has warned that it will not be able to resume its operations in support of Palestinian children due to a severe budget deficit, noting that during the recent war on Gaza, Israel has damaged 116 kindergartens and 140 public school buildings, in addition to 41 UNRWA schools. The UNICEF report on the humanitarian situation in Palestine stated that, in light of recent events, humanitarian assistance is urgent to meet the needs of children, which has increased to $47 million, with a gap of about $33 million (68%). UNICEF has received funding from several governments and several international organizations; however, it still suffers from a significant funding gap. The report emphasized that Gaza’s access to humanitarian aid remains a source of concern, along with a significant reduction in the provision of essential materials on the local market and the urgent need to import urgently needed items.
