The Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Fadi al-Hadmi, condemned Israel’s extended closure of Palestinian institutions in the city of Jerusalem, specially The Orient House. Al-Hadmi considered that the decision issued by the Israeli Minister of Internal Security comes in the context of the ongoing Israeli attack on the city of Jerusalem and its institutions and sanctities. He pointed out that the continuous decision since 2001, which includes dozens of vital Jerusalem institutions, is targeting the authentic Palestinian presence in the city of Jerusalem. Al-Hidmi also condemned the so-called Judaization of the “city center” scheme, which targets the most important commercial, cultural and population centers in East Jerusalem. The minister further pointed out that the plan aims to change the face of the city as we know it under the name of ‘development’, through a series of obstacles and restrictions, including determining the proportions of construction and the number of floors and changing the character of the city.
